About us

ALL NATIONS GOSPEL CHURCH PEFA NDUMBERI is found in Ndumberi ward of Kiambu county. It began in 1983 with the aim of proclaiming the love of Christ to the area residents. Like most of the local churches, the church members and the community at large were afflicted by poverty, social problems such as HIV/AIDS, alcoholism and drug abuse, sexual abuse, child neglect and spiritual problems that became a possible hindrance to the spreading of the gospel. The church therefore had to think of the possible ways to intervene and meet if not all then part of the people’s needs.

As a result, in 1993, the NDUMBERI ANGC FEEDING PROGRAM was born. This was started by the church as a purely feeding program for the children. They met on Saturdays and Sundays after church for the feeding. As the program continued, the demand became so high that the church was overwhelmed and could not manage on its own. It therefore had to look for other like-minded organizations to partner with. It’s in this spirit that the church approached Compassion International for partnership which joined in the feeding program in 1995 which now became more frequent which also led to the starting up of an Early Childhood Development center to meet both the social and the cognitive needs of the children. This program enabled the church to reach the children’s parents mostly mothers who began attending seminars at the center on hygiene, family planning, immunization, farming entrepreneurship among others this opportunity was also used to preach the love of Christ to them.

By the time Compassion was joining the church, the children population was at 75 which later grew to 120 due to the partnership with Compassion. In 1998, Compassion fully committed itself to support children further through the CDSP program Child Development through Sponsorship Program. In 2001 the was again selected to pilot what was then called Early Childhood Development Program (ECP) which later on in 2004 became the Child Survival program that is now the survival program. The survival program ended in February 2019 but the CDSP program is ongoing.

KE 353 Pefa Ndumberi Child development Centre (CDC) is therefore a mercy that seeks to assist needy children and families living within a radius of 5km in Ndumberi community and its environs.

Our Programs

Caregiver empowerment

Quote: Economic growth without investment in human development is unsustainable and unethical- Amartya Sen

We believe in empowering our caregivers. Most of them being casual laborers they do not get enough to cater for their families. The menial jobs are not available every day. We have partnered with Hand in Hand to train our caregivers on group management, savings, Enterprise development, financial management, credit access, value addition and environment conservation. They also learn marketable skills that they can engage in to earn an extra coin.

Tier Farming

We have also partnered with Tick Tack farmers to install Tier farming for 20 caregivers who have interest in farming. This goes a long way to boost their income and to fend for their families

PIG REARING

20 of our caregivers have benefited from this project with a funding of 20000 shillings to purchase pigs. The project will go a long way to benefit many caregivers in future as other caregivers benefit form piglets from the pioneers of the project.
